I’m traveling with a minor

If you’re traveling with a minor, the airline will try to assign you seats next to each other. However, each airline has different policies. For example, Latam Airlines and American Airlines guarantee that a minor will be seated with at least one of the adults in their group. On the other hand, airlines such as Gol, Azul, Avianca, and Aeromexico will try to do this but can’t guarantee it. Unfortunately, these decisions depend solely on each airline’s policies.

Keep in mind:

• Each airline has a different age for what they consider a minor. Generally, the usual age considered for this is under 12 years old.
• Airlines will usually try to keep the group together for traveling groups with a minor and more than one adult. However, they’ll prioritize having at least one adult next to the minor if there are limited seats.
